IPAF, who promote safe and effective use of Aerial Work Platforms, have published a “Statement of Best Practices of General Training and Familiarisation for Aerial Work Platform Equipment” document. The document is a useful guide for the industry, looking at establishing recognised standards of Health and Safety within training providers and addressing general guidelines for training to be used by companies in the industry.
The document covers differences between familiarisation and general training and indicates what that means for businesses working with Aerial Work Platforms and related equipment.
Aerial Platforms Ltd provide IPAF training and adhere to practices outlined in this document.

All MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Working Platforms) have varying restrictions when it comes to wind speed. Looking for a Cherry Picker Wind speed limit? It’s down to the MEWP itself.
With the weather conditions hitting hurricane levels throughout the UK this week the last place anyone will want to be is meters off the ground. All outdoor machines will have their rated wind speeds within the operators manual that is supplied in the manual box on
APL Suggest purchasing an Anemometers to check the weather conditions before and during any time you spend in a elevated working platform. In any instance where you are working at height, you should always familiarise yourself with your machine prior to use.each machine.
Always take note of your site conditions, weather conditions and use a anemometer as part of your regular routine.

Aerial Platforms Limited (APL) are participating in the new CPA pilot scheme for apprentices, which is a scheme to assist with young people’s careers.
The CPA pilot scheme hope to be a successful and beneficial partner to young apprentices to help them achieve the right start in our sector. The scheme hopes to provide not only the necessary qualifications within the apprentices chosen career path, but also to provide appropriate on the job training, guidance and support, and to teach good and safe working practices.
The CPA Training and Safety Manager, Haydn Steele came to our depot to meet our newest apprentice, Oliver Bond to update him on the scheme which will take place over a two year period.

Aerial Platforms Limited (APL) have fully fledged our support for the new Love Construction initiative recently launched by construction news magazine.
We believe the initiative highlights and strengthens the construction industries image, which will play a fundamental role in feeding the companies hires nationally. If we didn’t have construction led projects, business would be bleak.
