How safe is a MEWP in windy weather?

All MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Working Platforms) have varying restrictions when it comes to wind speed. Looking for a Cherry Picker Wind speed limit? It’s down to the MEWP itself.

With the weather conditions hitting hurricane levels throughout the UK this week the last place anyone will want to be is meters off the amemometer ground. All outdoor machines will have their rated wind speeds within the operators manual that is supplied in the manual box on

APL Suggest purchasing an Anemometers to check the weather conditions before and during any time you spend in a elevated working platform.  In any instance where you are working at height, you should always familiarise yourself with your machine prior to use.each machine.

Always take note of your site conditions, weather conditions and use a anemometer as part of your regular routine.

If you have any further questions relating to wind speeds, anemometers or any access equipment please contact our offices on 0800 085 3709 where our staff will be happy to assist.
